Tuesday Display Chain ~ Quilts

After Misi, at 1890 Gable House Musings, chose quilts as the theme for this week's display chain, I was wandering a flea market and my eye kept going to the quilts. It got me to wondering how these handmade pretties end up in a flea market and thinking about who made them and for what bed. I'm sure whoever made them would be happy to have them included in our little game of show and tell.

My favorite with little patches of velvet and hand embroidery . . .

A stack of traditional patchwork . . .

A couple of more recent examples . . .

And a log cabin design . . .

Such fun finding the quilts, but these are what I truly lust for ~

A display case of antique dolls . . .

Porcelain Half Dolls . . .

Quirky little toys . . .

Seems everything I love is always locked up tight . . .

Sorry for wandering off today's theme, but I couldn't resist sharing a few of my heart's desires. Thanks for hosting Misi.

oooh I love the very first quilt...I know Madaylynne: wonder how these precious textiles (quilts) end up at flea markets and not treasured in cupboards somewhere..guess people don't know how priceless they are! I only have one vintage quilt that I own so far...but am looking to collect more.
great pics!!

You're an absolute stitch Madalynne! Love it!! I would lust after those dollies and toys too - if only I could afford them! (I must say - you have much classier flea markets in your neck of the woods than we do!!) I truly enjoyed the photos you chose to share....I wanna go fleaing with you sometime! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Hi Madalynne~

Love the flea market quilts. I wish I could find some at flea markets by my house. I don't think I've seen so many antique dollies in one place before. They are lovely.

Enjoy your evening~Becky
