A Walk In The Park

Since Mother Nature decided to melt all that snow and grant us with a bit more of autumn, we headed down to the park . . .

We come here a couple of times a week (weather permitting). It's Baby's favorite place in the whole world . . .

There's a Farmer's Market here on Saturdays all summer . . .

And Concerts in the Gazebo on Thursday nights . . .

The pond is full of all kinds of birds ~ ducks, gulls, cranes and dozens of geese until they packed up and headed south . . .

It's amazing that there are any leaves left on the trees after the snow storm. Another week or so and a couple of strong winds will change this view . . .

The property the park sits on was given to the town by a local farm family. Hubby was good friends with their son when they were kids. The family kept a small piece of the property . . .

They sell plants, produce and ice cream . . .

And keep a few dozen cows in the pasture . . .

Across from the pasture we head up the hill . . .

That heads into the woods . . .

Then past the marsh . . .

We walk all the way around to the back of the park to the winding trail . . .

That leads to the bridge . . .

That overlooks another pond . . .

See how far we've come. That's the Gazebo way over there . . .

It's a five mile walk. It must feel like a hundred miles to Baby with those little legs, but she loves every step . . .

The park is such a great place for inspiration. I can imagine these cozy critters living among the trees. They're my second Christmas set. They'll be headed to Ebay tonight . . .

And just a reminder: Carol is having an awesome giveaway at Buttermilk Creek Farm. Be sure to check it out!

Thanks for joining me and Baby on our walk.
