Shopping Day

I decided to take a break from stitchin' and get out for a bit today. With so much going on around town, it was difficult to decide where to start. Our first stop was the Pruyn House which was hosting the Weavers Guild's annual show and sale. I love this place. It's a beautiful historic home that hosts a variety of events. Today's show offered room after room of handwoven goods . . . apparel, table linens, blankets, rugs, and more. They had spinning wheels and looms set up for demonstrations too. What a fun start to the day.

A beautiful place from every angle . . .

Pronounced "PRINE" . . .

Such a pretty place to drive by . . .

I decided on a table runner that ended up being too small for the place I had in mind . . . but I'm sure I'll find a spot for it . . .
_

Next, we were off to the Used Bookstore where I found exactly what I had no idea I was even looking for: Alice in the Delighted States is an "alternative Alice" book from 1928 with awesome illustrations; Fools, Clowns & Jesters is a collection of quotes, facts and interesting nonsense; and a batch of itty bitty books I always find hard to resist.
_
Then, a stop at the craft store for some glitter powder; a quick lunch; a pit stop at a craft fair which resulted in a purchase of several bars of handmade soap; and finally our last stop: The Joyful Quilter (one of my favorite fabric shops). I ended up with a Moda Quilt Kit which includes most of what is needed to make a quilt . . . all tucked into a tin with a print of the finished quilt on it . . . way too cute to pass up.
_ And now I'll get back to stitchin'. What did you do this weekend?
